When do I need a 415V to 380V transformer?

It’s commonly used to operate European or Chinese 380V equipment on Australian 415V mains supply safely and reliably.

Will my motors or VFDs run correctly on 380V?

Generally yes. Confirm nameplate ratings and any derating if frequency differs between regions.

Can you provide taps on the secondary?

Yes, but typically these are not required on these stepdown transformers, as the equipment they are used on typically have a voltage tolerance, and not required. We can include ±2.5% & ±5% off-load taps (or as specified) for fine voltage adjustment if required.

What sizes are stocked vs made to order?

We try to keep a stock of the most commonly required sizes – 10kVA, 25kVA, 50kVA. Being all made in our Melbourne-based facility, we can quickly build, test, and despatch any size within 5-10 business days.

What efficiency and losses should I expect?

We provide no‑load and full‑load losses with your quote and design to your duty cycle and efficiency requirements.
