We have units still in the field still operating in the field since the 1970s – if you have one of these, give a call please, it’s well and truly time to update it! Our transformers are designed with conservative parameters, built with durable, high-quality materials, and every transformer is tested comprehensively, becuase we know that the customers that choose Southern transformers prioritise reliability and long life expectancy. Actual lifespan can vary based on factors like: Environmental conditions: Temperature, humidity, and dust exposure can impact longevity. Loading conditions: Consistent operation within rated load helps extend life; overloading shortens it. Maintenance: Regular maintenance can prevent issues like overheating and insulation degradation, prolonging life. Operations & Maintenance Manuals can be provided with our transforemrs upon request.
